AMY BUCHANAN MA, PRACTICE MANAGER
With over 24 years of experience as an administrator, Ms. Buchanan offers a unique blend of expertise in customer service, team building, interpersonal skills, outreach, and leadership. Her career experiences started in the Troy School District, followed by Milford Counseling and finally Live Rite Structured Recovery, a non-profit, before landing here at River’s Bend. She received her bachelor’s degree from Adrian College and a master’s in administration from Saginaw Valley State University.
Ms. Buchanan is in recovery from substance use disorder and utilizes her lived experience to help those individuals and their families who are still suffering. She puts a face and a voice to the issues of addiction through her public speaking and documentary to help remove the stigma that goes along with mental health and substance use. She believes strongly in giving back to her community and is involved with Unite to Face Addiction-Michigan, FAN (Families Against Narcotics) and The Amber Reineck House.
